35 countries overnight, and not one could overspend

Monefy's search ads were rebuilt as a deterministic system: every market priced from the app's own revenue data, every campaign capped below what a user there is worth, 35 countries launched in a single night. Profitable in its first market within 12 hours.

01The Challenge

Monefy, a finance app with 25M+ lifetime downloads, ran a conventional first search-ads cycle: standard campaign structures, manual bids, eleven countries. It returned cents on the dollar. When Fload's analysis dug into why, Apple's own data revealed the quiet killers.

  • A large share of paid “installs” were redownloads: existing users re-fetching the app. In one market, the cost of a genuinely new user was more than double the reported install price once Apple's first-time-download data was split out.
  • Bids had no relationship to user value. Campaigns happily paid $2 to 4 per install in markets where a user's 90-day revenue was under $0.25, because nothing in a conventional setup knows what a user is worth.
  • One market's “performance problem” was actually a pricing problem: trial conversion had collapsed, and no amount of ad optimization could fix a paywall. Conventional reporting had no way to say so.

02The Solution

  1. Priced the whole world first. 90-day revenue per download computed for 170+ storefronts from Monefy's own cohort data. 41 markets cleared the profitable-price bar; the rest got free pre-spend verdicts.

  2. Made overspend structurally impossible. One campaign per country, each with a hard cost-per-acquisition cap below that market's user value. The budget is a ceiling; the economics are the governor. A market that can't deliver profitable users simply doesn't spend.

  3. Launched 35 countries in a single night. About 2,400 value-ranked exact-match keywords across 14 languages, brand traffic excluded everywhere, Apple-native attribution wired in. In 18 thin-data markets with no reliable keyword research available, Apple's own Search Match was switched on: the campaigns research their own keywords, and the caps make the exploration free.

  1. 170+markets priced from revenue data
  2. 41buyable at a profitable price
  3. 35launched overnight
  4. <12hto the first profitable market

03The Results

  • Profitable within 12 hours: Brazil delivered installs at $0.13 against $0.17 to 0.21 of measured user value on day one. Below-value acquisition from the first spend, verified in Apple's reporting.
  • 35 live markets, none capable of unprofitable spend: every campaign's bid ceiling is derived from its market's measured value. The system can underspend, but it cannot overpay. Several markets sat correctly silent at their caps: each one a free, documented verdict that profitable inventory doesn't exist there yet.
  • 31 markets priced out before a dollar: Spain (“a pricing problem, not an ads problem”: trial conversion had collapsed), Japan, India, France and 27 others came back below the buyability floor. Under the old approach, several of these were actively being paid for.
  • 4 markets discovered to be unservable: Apple Search Ads doesn't operate there at all. Found by the system, for free, instead of by a person after weeks of confusion.
  • 18 self-researching markets: where keyword data providers are blind, the campaigns generate their own search-term data. Every week of running adds keywords no research tool could have supplied.
“We built in one night what a UA team would schedule a quarter for. And the part that matters isn't the speed, it's that none of the 35 markets can lose money. The system buys the cream of the crop in every country, or it buys nothing.”

04Conclusion

Monefy's search ads went from a conventional money-loser to a priced, capped, world-scale system in one night: 170+ markets analyzed, 35 launched, 31 refused for free, 4 proven unservable, and the first profitable market confirmed inside 12 hours. The structure now compounds on its own calendar. Winning markets earn bigger budgets, silent markets are revisited as the app's economics improve, and every verdict makes the next launch smarter. Full first-cycle revenue figures publish with the cohort read.
